Bollywood's chocolate boy, Shahid Kapoor, will tie the knot with Mira Rajput in Delhi on July 8, 2015, and the two families have already reached the capital as finer details of their nuptials get chalked out, reports Bombay Times. The wedding ceremony will take place at Mira's Chattarpur farmhouse. The ceremony will be followed by a grand after-party at a Gurgaon hotel. The wedding will be attended by family, friends and the leader of the spiritual group Radha Soami Satsang Beas. Post celebrations in Delhi, a reception will be hosted on July 12 in Mumbai. Designer Kunal Rawal has designed 10 outfits for the groom. A lot of ethnic outfits like achkans and bandhgalas are part of Shahid's wardrobe, the report stated. The bride will be seen in Anamika Khanna creations. As per sources, the couple's wedding attire will be colour co-ordinated. Mira's friends hosted a bridal shower ceremony. A source informed that since both the families are followers of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, the menu will be strictly vegetarian. The after-party will have a mix of Indian and continental cuisine. Shahid's family members finalised the evening food spread along with Mira's parents. It was also reported that there will be a special stall of fancy Jaipuri paans.

"2014 was about selfies... 2015 is for #velfies!" screams the blurb for Velfie, a smartphone app similar to Dubsmash where users mime songs or quotes to pre-recorded audio before posting the clips on social networks.

German-developed Dubsmash has rapidly become a global phenomenon since its launch in November and has been downloaded more than 50 million times across 192 countries, according to its website.

The global craze is sweeping the film industry, with numerous stars entertaining legions of loyal fans with dubbed videos which are uploaded to popular sharing platforms Facebook and Instagram.

Agencies fight over ‘Next Top Model’ winner

The famed Wilhelmina modeling agency stole a South Korean stunner from her Manhattan management company by promising to sponsor her work visa, according to a lawsuit.
Muse Management says it had a three-year deal with Sora Choi, the willowy 2012 winner of “Next Top Model” in her homeland, and spent “countless hours developing Choi’s image to the point where she is today an internationally recognized model.”
Choi got work with Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang — but in May wrote a letter claiming she wanted to end her contract with Muse, the company
claims in its Manhattan Supreme Court suit against the model and Wilhelmina Models.
The next month, Wilhelmina announced their association with Choi on social media.
“Wilhelmina knew that Choi had no right to ‘end’ her management agreement,” Muse charges, adding “Wilhelmina has wrongfully induced Choi to render services as a model to Wilhelmina by offering to sponsor her work visa.”
Muse is seeking unspecified damages. Wilhelmina did not return a call for comment.

So we blanket our ignorance with the necessary nod to times gone by, and move on. Isn't it a pity that we aren’t better acquainted with our history?
Our experience of the ‘golden period’, for those of us who have actively sought it out, is formed by slow buffering Youtube videos, the occasional screening of a classic, or the one-off exhibition of film buff Guddu Khan’s vast collection of memorabilia. We hurray at these scattered opportunities, hail them as ‘much-needed’ (which they undoubtedly are), but they're no substitute for a proper cultural archive — a concrete, cohesive, comprehensive collection of records that document our history and make it readily available to the public.
That’s what Nariman Ansari, a 35-year-old photographer and visual artist based in Toronto and the elder daughter of iconic actor-comedian-writer Bushra Ansari, set about to create.
Rescuing the contents of a cardboard box that held photographs, articles and other records of her mother’s life on and off screen — documents once endangered by their proximity to the sea in Bushra’s former residence — and scouring the internet for everything else she could find, Nariman decided to put it all together and make public an archive of her mother's life and work.

Peshawar’s lone theatre echoes with melodies

PESHAWAR: A troupe of eight artists comprising three singers and five instrumentalists from Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad enthralled Peshawarites on Monday night.
The Urdu ghazal night was organised by Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) in collaboration with culture directorate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Nishtar Hall to boost the soft image of the country and promote unity and patriotism among the people.
The entertainment-starved audience tuned to dance in the jam-packed hall and showered accolades on the guest singers for their well-articulated performance.
Some enthusiastic music lovers kept on tossing their heads while others kept saying encore after every performance. The mixed melodies of Urdu, Punjabi and Pashto ghazals and folk songs brought a joy and pleasure to the terrorism-affected Peshawarites.

Footprints: When Lee became Jinnah

CHRISTOPHER Lee worked in more than 200 films, including huge box-office hits like the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Star Wars instalments. So, why did he consider his role in Jinnah as Jinnah his favourite, given that the biopic could not rake in enough money or get critical acclaim as much as, let’s say, Gandhi did? Lee, who passed away on June 7 aged 93, in an interview once said, “It was certainly the most important role I have ever played because the responsibility on my shoulders was immense.”
He always weighed his words before uttering them; therefore the word responsibility is key here, so is the word shoulders, because it puts a distinguished film critic’s opinion into perspective that Lee was an actor of “muscular intelligence”. He knew his responsibilities as a performer, as someone whose duty it was to reflect life through (his) art.
To shoot Jinnah, directed by Jamil Dehalvi, Lee landed in Karachi in the late 1990s. It did not take him long to realise what he was in for. There were things outside of his acting domain that he needed to withstand. He witnessed all the hoopla surrounding him, a Brit who shot to fame by playing Count Dracula on celluloid, being cast in the role of the founder of the nation Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Some of the newspapers (in those days television news channels hadn’t burgeoned into the kind of media juggernauts that we these days see on a daily basis) ran a nasty campaign against him for unjustly getting the part that should’ve been, in their view, played by a Pakistani. There were even reports that Lee received death threats during the course of the film. But it did not deter him one bit.
He was an accomplished artist, and was in Pakistan to play one of the most influential political figures of the 20th century, someone he admired. He knew it wouldn’t be a walk in the park. The Pakistani media was hostile, Pakistani film buffs boisterous. So concentration was of the utmost importance. And concentrate he did.

‘Titanic’ music composer Horner dies in plane crash

LOS ANGELES: James Horner, the celebrated composer of musical scores for several smash-hit movies, including “Titanic “and “Avatar,” died on Monday in a plane crash at the age of 61, colleagues said.
Hollywood trade magazine Variety reported the composer died when his private aircraft crashed in Santa Barbara, California.
The Federal Aviation Administration said a single engine Tucano MK1 crashed at 9:30 am on Monday near Cuyama, California, killing pilot, the only person on board.
The plane was registered to Tucano Flyer, LLC, which lists Horner as a managing member. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
“We have lost an amazing person with a huge heart, and unbelievable talent.
He died doing what he loved,” Horner’s personal assistant, Sylvia Wells, said on her Facebook page.
“Brilliant Composer James Horner, friend & collaborator on 7 movies has tragically died in a plane crash. My heart aches for his loved ones,” wrote director and colleague Ron Howard on Twitter.
Horner won two Oscars for his work on “Titanic” — one for its theme song “My Heart Will Go On”, performed by Celine Dion, and another for the film’s score.

Golden Chick set to enter Pakistan

KARACHI: A central Texas-based US fried chicken chain is all set to enter Pakistan.
The Golden Chick Restaurant — Chicken Tender-Fried Chicken will initially open three restaurants this year and aims to raise the number to 30 joints in subsequent years.
The company signed a ‘letter of intent’ with Crescent Star Foods (Pvt) Limited (CSF), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Crescent Star Insurance Limited on Tuesday.
Talking to Dawn, Naim Anwar, the CEO of Crescent Insurance Ltd and its subsidiary, said the three restaurants with which the US chicken chain is to make first foray into the country would cost Rs300 million.
He added that a flagship restaurant would be set up in Lahore while two others would be set up in Karachi and a smaller town.
“Golden Chick would also introduce ‘roasted’ chicken (charga),” he said.
Market sources suggest that Pakistan ranks among the top 20 chicken consumers, with poultry consumption at 834,000 tonnes a year.
But with already more than 10 fast food franchise chains, is there space for a new entrant?
A person indirectly related to the business presented current numbers which show KFC at the top with 37pc market share followed by McDonalds 26pc; Hardee’s 6pc; Fat Burger 3pc; Johnny Rockets 2pc and Burger King 2pc.
Yet most people associated with the fast food industry believe that the demand is not about to end. “With higher spending power of the middle and upper middle classes and the country’s demography that places youth of under 19 (prime consumers of fast food) to constitute an overwhelming 45pc of the entire population, the market share and margins of most players are assured,” he said.
He contended that of all the fast food outlets in the business, only KFC was concentrated in chicken while the remaining also catered to other items such as beef burgers.
He believed that even in chicken the Golden Chick would have an edge against other players that serve either framed-grilled chicken or fried chicken.

He says he loves all his fans. The 72-year-old, who makes it a point to stay connected with his fans through several virtual platforms be it Twitter, Facebook or his blog, notes that he tries to talk to his fans despite his busy schedule. “There is effort each moment on the social media and sites...effort to keep up with the Ef...effort to catch them online and respond to them so they feel they are noticed and replied to. The cine icon, who has earned epithets like “Bollywood Shahenshah”, also had a humble request for his fans. “Then some very enthusiastic emotional Ef, connect at Blog, Twitter, FB, DM’s, email, Mobile...and the refrain is the same 'are you annoyed with me, why are you ignoring me, you have not replied to me in 3 days' and so on . My humble submission...it is not as though I sit here 24 hours in anticipation of your message and waiting to reply to you...I work,” he shared. The “Paa” star added that the tones of remarks is “really quite upsetting”. “And the ask is immediate...reply NOW, why have you not REPLIED. HOW? how can I reply immediately...I have other and a lot of other work to do...I remember all and I read all and I recognise all and I love all,” he posted. Priyanka Chopra shoots for Gangaajal 2 in Bhopal

Priyanka Chopra, who began shooting for Prakash Jha's Gangaajal 2 on June 16, is kicking butt, literally.
She plays a hard-as-nails cop who takes on not just conniving subordinates but also the influential bizmen in her district. On Monday, she turned up at the Jama Masjid Chowk bazaar in old Bhopal at an ungodly 6 am. Jha had permission to shoot at the market for six hours, from 6 am to noon but he needed crowds in the frame and instead of junior artistes preferred locals. So around 150 shopkeepers were cajoled into pulling up their shutters and hanging around on camera for the next 10 hours since the shoot had been extended by four hours. Despite this being the Ramzan season, they co-operated with crew.

Meanwhile, Priyanka's brother Siddharth, aunt Kamini, and sister Mannara landed in Bhopal yesterday to keep the actress, who has been shooting around-the-clock, company. The trio chose to drive down, stopping at Aurangabad to visit the Ajanta and Ellora caves.

Aamir Khan is preparing for his role of a wrestler in Dangal. However, he is planning to do another film before starting work on the film where he plays the father of four girls. According to a report on Bollywoodlife.com, the film that he is planning to shoot for, in the interim period, is the biopic of crime journalist, J Dey. The biopic, that has been titled, Mid Dey, is expected to take only 20-25 days of Aamir's time, which is why the actor has agreed to wrap up the film before he channels his energies to the other project. Apparently, the look that Aamir is going to sport for Dangal is somewhat similar to what is required for Mid Dey.

While Aamir has agreed to be a part of the J Dey biopic, he is focussed on Dangal too. The actor stays up late at the night to prepare for the role.

Bajirao Mastani: The making

Designer Anju Modi, who is working on the costumes for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, says actress Deepika Padukone will sport a "royal style" in the film, reports IANS. "Deepika will be seen dressed in royal style, plus she is playing a Muslim character in the film, so we have tried to give her sharara and kurtis," the designer said. Giving insights into the film's costumes, Anju said, "Bajirao Mastani is a period movie. So, we have kept old Mughal style angarkha and Maharasthrian style navvari sarees as it's a story about the Maratha Peshwas."

Remakes to look forward to in the coming months

Now here's a piece of good news for Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra's fans. The Student Of The Year actors have been confirmed for the remake of Ram Lakhan, reports Bollywoodlife.com. As per the report, Varun will play the role of the younger brother, Lakhan and Sidharth will play the elder, responsible brother, Ram.
